The second week in Honduras we traveled back to San Pedro Sula and went to a hotel then had our training. We met our interpreters. They were high schoolers who attended a bilingual school.

This conference was called a Convocation and here the teachers who attend have plenary sessions in the mornings and then small groups in the afternoons. Dick and I led our small groups as they are directed through the curriculum. Dick worked with the secondary level teachers and I worked with the elementary level.
It was a tremendous week as we could see more interest each day in the teachers as they got excited about using the curriculum with their students.
They saw the value of teaching these lessons based on the Bible.

After this week Dick and I met up with Winnie Minear and spent the next three weeks with her.
We were able to visit the church where we were married in San Pedro Sula. It was a great reminder of all that God has done through the 35 years since we were married there.
Also, we went to Tegucigalpa and visited the missionary friends we have there and the Cerro Grande church called Berea.  Dick and I started this church in l985. It started with a Bible study and gradually grew to where we needed to rent a small house. We returned to the states in l988 and Winnie worked in the church and invited a team from here church in Virginia. They built the building.
There was only one person there that recognized us. Her name is Maria Isolina. It was so good to see her. She introduced us to the pastor and his wife. We were able to share in the service and also Maria shared what she remembered from when we were there.
The Lord blessed us very much as we were able to see all that He has done in the church and community.

Also, we were able to go to Siguatepeque and visit Adria Stamm. We were so happy to see her. She is studying Spanish there at a language school.  Luis Vega took the 3 of us to visit a coffee plantation. It was very interesting to see how the people work to process their coffee.

We returned home on March 24th rejoicing to see all the ministry that is going on in Honduras and also were challenged to pray as there is still much to be done!

Honduras 2014

On February 13, 2014 Dick and I traveled to Honduras to participate in the Campus Crusade For Christ convocation called International School Project. It is a great program where public school teachers attend to learn about the Historical Christian values and ethics in order to teach their students in their schools.
We arrived in San Pedro Sula, Honduras and met the team then went to a hotel where we would spend one night. The next day we went to Siguatepeque by bus. It was great to see friends I had known from previous trips and to introduce them to Dick.
This conference was called Leadership Development Conference. Here we had training and then met our interpreters. On Tuesday we met our small groups that we would facilitate. The teachers were given  study Bibles and they really liked them. We studied Titus using the inductive study method.
It was a great week.

Today I will share the pictures we took at the Tulsa State Fair here in Oklahoma. We were there last week so I want to share the photos. Notice the mama sow who just recently gave birth and her piglets. There were about 10 of them.
We had a good time looking around and drank a smoothie made at the VitaMix booth. It was made with spinach, pineapple, lime, a whole orange. It was great!  The only ride we got onto was the people mover at the end of the day. It took us closer to the parking lot. A good day.

Hi, how are you?
The nice thing about a blog is that it can be read anywhere. I hope you are enjoying reading these blogs and seeing these pictures.
On July 13 Richard, my husband and I plan to move to Tahlequah, Oklahoma.
Yes, I know there are tornadoes there but we will be living near the eastern border near the Ozarks.
It is beautiful there and very green. We will be living in a retirement facility but not retiring!!
Richard will be continuing his missionary work as he contacts the local churches who want to reach the Hispanic people there.  I will be serving at Christ For Me Ministries, Inc. There Bible correspondence courses will be processed and also I will be translating lessons from English to Spanish.
Please be in prayer for us as we make this change.

March, 2013

ENGLISH:

Today is a beautiful day even though it is overcast here in southern california I see it as another
opportunity to serve God and my fellow man...neighbors and friends.  The Bible says that we should be hospitable and friendly with others.

What does that have to do with the Heaven song? It is always good to share the story of  Jesus  Christ with friends  as we have opportunity. I have been able to share the Heaven song in the following situations recently:

- Bible club where children attend to learn more about God. They hear Bible stories and sing songs that tell about Jesus' love and forgiveness.

- Having breakfast with friends who said they would share it with the children's leaders in their church.

- Preschool program where the moms meet together while other faithful teachers care for their preschoolers. Children sing the Heaven song as part of their music program.

- Sunday School where children come with their families to learn about God and worship Him as their one and only God. Children sing this song and are taught the story of Jesus' love and forgiveness for their sins.

- Last summer at a Vacation Bible School teaching the kindergarden class we sang the Heaven song and learned of Jesus' coming from Heaven as a baby.

ESPANOL;
