The second week in Honduras we traveled back to San Pedro Sula and went to a hotel then had our training. We met our interpreters. They were high schoolers who attended a bilingual school.

This conference was called a Convocation and here the teachers who attend have plenary sessions in the mornings and then small groups in the afternoons. Dick and I led our small groups as they are directed through the curriculum. Dick worked with the secondary level teachers and I worked with the elementary level.
It was a tremendous week as we could see more interest each day in the teachers as they got excited about using the curriculum with their students.
They saw the value of teaching these lessons based on the Bible.

After this week Dick and I met up with Winnie Minear and spent the next three weeks with her.
We were able to visit the church where we were married in San Pedro Sula. It was a great reminder of all that God has done through the 35 years since we were married there.
Also, we went to Tegucigalpa and visited the missionary friends we have there and the Cerro Grande church called Berea.  Dick and I started this church in l985. It started with a Bible study and gradually grew to where we needed to rent a small house. We returned to the states in l988 and Winnie worked in the church and invited a team from here church in Virginia. They built the building.
There was only one person there that recognized us. Her name is Maria Isolina. It was so good to see her. She introduced us to the pastor and his wife. We were able to share in the service and also Maria shared what she remembered from when we were there.
The Lord blessed us very much as we were able to see all that He has done in the church and community.

Also, we were able to go to Siguatepeque and visit Adria Stamm. We were so happy to see her. She is studying Spanish there at a language school.  Luis Vega took the 3 of us to visit a coffee plantation. It was very interesting to see how the people work to process their coffee.

We returned home on March 24th rejoicing to see all the ministry that is going on in Honduras and also were challenged to pray as there is still much to be done!

Honduras 2014

On February 13, 2014 Dick and I traveled to Honduras to participate in the Campus Crusade For Christ convocation called International School Project. It is a great program where public school teachers attend to learn about the Historical Christian values and ethics in order to teach their students in their schools.
We arrived in San Pedro Sula, Honduras and met the team then went to a hotel where we would spend one night. The next day we went to Siguatepeque by bus. It was great to see friends I had known from previous trips and to introduce them to Dick.
This conference was called Leadership Development Conference. Here we had training and then met our interpreters. On Tuesday we met our small groups that we would facilitate. The teachers were given  study Bibles and they really liked them. We studied Titus using the inductive study method.
It was a great week.
